Notable Cases

Since founding Marasso Law in 2024, Bruno has secured more than $11 million in recoveries for our clients:

  • Settlement: $6,500,000 for a client who suffered a traumatic brain injury when she was hit by debris that fell from a building’s facade in Chicago.
  • Confidential Settlement: $3,115,875 for a married couple in their late 70s who suffered injuries after being rear-ended by a 22-year-old drunk driver. Despite the drunk driver carrying the state minimum insurance coverage, the couple was made whole from our thorough investigation resulting in payment from a total of five different insurance companies.
  • Confidential Settlement: $2,000,000 for a woman in her early 50s who slipped and fell two different times on the same date in the same grocery store and claimed aggravation of degenerative back conditions. Defendant contested that there was liquid present on the floor at the location of either fall and that a surgery she received 2.5 years later was unrelated, citing multiple gaps in treatment including 2 months and then 1 year.

Bruno was also the primary handling attorney on each of the following additional matters unless otherwise noted:

  • Verdict: Member of the trial team at his former firm that obtained a $44.7 million verdict for man shot by an off-duty Chicago Police Officer and sustained a traumatic brain injury and permanent triplegia.
  • Verdict: Lead trial lawyer for $9,050,000.00 verdict for plaintiffs in a case where Andrew suffered a mild traumatic brain injury as a result of riding his bike into a portion of a bike path that was damaged by Commonwealth Edison’s workers the day before; verdict included $3,300,000 in damages for Emma.
  • Settlement: $6,992,500 settlement for the families of an 86-year-old woman (survived by two adult children) and 59-year-old woman (survived by husband and three adult children) arising out of a rear-end motor vehicle collision in rural Michigan in which Defendant died

  • Settlement: $1 million settlement for woman injured in rear-end motor vehicle collision who underwent three level cervical disc replacement procedure; plaintiff was on social security disability at time of collision
  • Appellate Decision: overturning of a grant of summary judgment in a unwitnessed fall case where the plaintiff passed away from unrelated causes before being deposed
  • Verdict: $20,000 verdict for injury in which plaintiff incurred $1,385.00 in medical expenses and $133.00 in lost earnings (not submitted) as a result of debris falling from CTA train platform ceiling and striking her head and neck. CTA alleged surveillance footage undisputedly showed plaintiff was not struck by objects and next-day ER visit showed no objective signs of trauma to the head and neck. CTA offered $0 and rejected $6,500 arbitration award.
